Marjorie Hall Thulin lecture by Garry Wills - “Earth, Our Home: A Theology of Nature”

Date

04/01/16

Garry Wills, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and Professor of History Emeritus at Northwestern University, will deliver this year’s Marjorie Hall Thulin lecture on “Earth, Our Home: A Theology of Nature.” This will take place on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in 141 Loomis Lab, 1110 W. Green St., Urbana.  In this lecture, Professor Wills will discuss Pope Francis’s recent encyclical letter, which provides religious grounds for rejecting a theology of human dominion over the earth and suggests an alternative conception of the role humans should play on the planet.
